| August 31, 2009: Out of space - oops! We've reached capacity, please visit our family blog at: higginsworld.blogspot.com May 10, 2009: Happy Mother's Day!Today is Mother's Day (my first official one) and it has been nice. Brian made a nice breakfast sandwich for me that I enjoyed on the porch. He also has changed all the poopy diapers all weekend - now if I could just get him to do that every weekend! :) Looks like it's going to be a lazy day - just the way I like it! May 9, 2009: party timeIt was a fun lazy day today and Naylor took a nice long nap this morning. Once he woke up, the Hargroves were down so Anna, Naylor, Brian and I headed to the beach for just a little bit. It was warm, but really windy so that made it a little bit cool on the beach. Naylor had a fun time playing on his blanket and Anna had the most fun jumping the waves - she's crazy because that water was freezing! Here are a few pictures of his first time at the beach. That night Annie grilled up some chicken and burgers and we had a fine time at the house including CAKE! What a fun night.
well, we've run out of room to load pictures, so i'm going to contact tech support (brian) and we'll get them up later this weekend. May 8, 2009: Happy Birthday!Today is my 30th birthday - kind of sad, but it has been a nice day. Brian and I headed to the beach with Naylor and ate lunch at Dockside and watched the boats go by. We then just hung out... the gang is coming down tomorrow and we'll party down then! May 6, 2009: helping out... or trying to!Naylor and I headed down to Clinton to help out with the baby or shopping or whatever, so we got some QT with the family. We'll be here until Friday when Brian is coming down and we're heading to the beach. While we were at Christie's, Ava James was crying and Naylor started mocking her! It was the funniest thing - we hadn't seen him do that before; what a funny guy. May 1, 2009: Ava James heading homeChristie, Jamie and Ava James came by to pick up Anna and head home. Ava James is so tiny! The hard thing to believe is that she's bigger than Naylor - I just can't remember him being that little. Here she is in her car seat, funny how they get all curled up in those things! April 29, 2009: Welcome Ava James Hargrove!I'm not sure what's been going on, but I guess we've just been real busy! I just noticed that it's been 11 days since an update... it's crazy around here lately. We do FINALLY have a new baby girl - Ava James Hargrove arrived today weighing in at 7lbs 4oz and 19" long. Funny thing, Anna, Naylor and Ava have all been 19" at birth. Everyone is doing great and Anna is here with us tonight for a 'slumber party'. Naylor is already in the bed - he spent most of the day at the office with his Daddy so Mama could be at the hospital with Aunt Christie and I don't think he napped too well for his dad. Here are a couple of pictures of the sweet girl; more to come. April 18, 2009: NCSU Red / White gameToday is the NCSU Red / White game and we packed up and headed out there to meet our friends. What a great day to tailgate and hang out to watch some football! Naylor's good buddies Carson Swaringen and Mason Prowler were both there along with Luda Markham; they had a ton of fun playing together. It's fun to see the boys starting to play together and I know football season will be entertaining this fall. Here are some great pictures from the day - it was great to feel like Spring and enjoy a day out! Naylor trying on Carson's hat

Luda Markham and Naylor April 15, 2009: sleepy boyI think after we went to bed last night, Naylor got up and partied because he was wiped out today. On two different occassions I caught him sleeping... in the oddest positions... once in his high chair and another in his jumper - too cute!
April 14, 2009: back to schoolAfter a week of Spring break and a teacher workday, Naylor was back at school today (and I got some work done)! He had a great day and we took a nice nap when we got home. He is really starting to be a lot of fun, loves playing peek-a-boo and loves to laugh. Here are two video links of him laughing - it's hilarious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SOL9dTH_NA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDgqY1rWZvY&NR=1
April 12, 2009: Happy Easter!Today is Easter and we headed to church for the Easter service, which was very nice. Naylor had on his nice Easter suit and slept through most of church; he did enjoy the singing though! Once he woke up, he made eyes and smiled at Helen Vann through the remainder of the service - what a charmer he is! We then headed to MaMa and PaPa's for a huge lunch and an Easter egg hunt. All of the 'kids' (me, Brian, Christie, Jamie, Meredith, Dustin, Robert and Anna) were supposed to hunt the eggs, but Robert and Anna were too quick for us and got all of the eggs. It was a ton of fun watching them. Naylor got to see some real cows up close for the first time yesterday... I'm not sure what he thought of them, but was very intrigued when they would moo. We then headed back home and had dinner with Amanda. Then it was to the house and straight to bed for both Naylor and myself... we were beat! Happy Easter everybody!
April 10, 2009: day with DaddyBrian stayed home today with Naylor while I ran a million errands around town. I'm catering a renewing of vows tomorrow and have a ton of stuff to pick up in preparation. I think Brian was pretty wiped out by the time I got home... it's not always as easy as it looks keeping him happy and entertained! April 2, 2009: first dislikeWe're in the process of increasing meals and decreasing bottles so this morning for breakfast Naylor had oatmeal and bananas. And we found his first dislike... bananas! He's gobbled up all of his green beans, sweet peas, squash and carrots and makes a yucky face at bananas. Ha! Who would have guessed that? We'll try them again tomorrow morning as he didn't finish the jar - hopefully those will go better. April 1, 2009: Happy 5th Birthday Anna!Today is Naylor's cousin Anna's 5th birthday. We got up this morning, got all showered up and headed to Wal-Mart to get some cooking supplies, baby veggies and more bibs (he drools so much we go through like 4 a day now, but still no teeth). I'm making a lasagna and as soon as Brian gets home we're scooting down to Christie and Jamie's to have dinner and celebrate with the birthday girl. Naylor seemed pretty excited when I told him what we were doing, but I was also giving him his oatmeal for breakfast, so it could have been the food that he was so excited about! |
